Unloading and Handling
 

Before attempting to unload FRC™ pipes, personnel should be aware of the weight to be lifted.

Refer to pipe mass information provided in the table below.

Supertite pipe classes and sizes

As careless handling can damage pipes they should not be dropped or thrown to the ground, and severe impact with other pipes or objects should be avoided.

At a minimum, the following instructions should be observed:

  • Units of pipes should be removed from truck or rail by a crane or forklift.
  • When a crane is used, an adequate spreader and lifting bars should be provided as illustrated above.
  • Wire slings must be kept clear of pipes.
  • Timber bearers under the pipes should never be used for lifting.
  • Forklift tines should be of adequate length to support the full width of the pallet, or should be fitted with slippers.
