Construction

Construction steps are detailed below:

1.  Excavate trench to line, and level as set out by the surveyor. Trench should be 100mm below pipe invert, minimum width pipe OD plus 300mm.
Note: When large diameter pipes are used, a wider trench may be necessary in order to compact the haunch.

2.  Place and screed bedding to level.

3.  Bed the FRC™ pipes to line and level, ensure that the slots for the grate section are aligned.

4.  Place and compact aggregate (5mm - 10mm size) around pipe haunch up to the half diameter of the pipe.

5.  Place the metal SlimDrain™ riser in the pipe and adjust so that the top of grate is on the correct alignment. If necessary, shim under the supports to obtain finished level of grate.

6.  Seal the junction of the SlimDrain™ grate and pipe with duct tape if necessary.

7.  Place concrete or no-fines concrete around top of pipe and bring to within 100mm of surface level (or as specified on project drawings). Care is necessary to bring up concrete evenly on both sides of pipe and grate.

8.  Place concrete minimum grade N32 (or as specified on project drawings) to FSL.
