The Eastern Distributor presented an enormous opportunity to showcase the unique benefits of FRC™ pipes as the most fit-for-purpose product available on the market to cover the broad requirements of this 6km $650m infrastructure project undertaken by Leighton Contractors Pty Limited.

FRC™ pipes were utilised for the longitudinal stormwater drainage pipes throughout the sections of the project from the Northern land bridge to the end of the Dacey Todman Zone, at the Southern extremity of the project. FRC™ pipes were also the product of choice for the below ground tunnel drainage and suspended drainage requirements of the main tunnel.

The four hour fire resistance rating and the versatility of the FRC™ pipes product range provided the constructors with extensive design and construct options. FRC™ Supertite™ pipe was also utilised in many areas of the Eastern Distributor as the sensitive water table requirements necessitated a product able to ensure that there would be no ingress or egress of petro-chemical products or silt / root penetration.
