FRC™ pipes proved to be the product of choice of this Baulderstone Hornibrook / RTA bridge project. FRC™ Supertite™ suspended drainage pipes were called upon again for this large bridge project.

Pipe diameters of 525mm are not uncommon in bridge deck projects spanning 600m or more, and present a level of difficulty in construction installation technique. A unique and innovative approach by Baulderstone Hornibrook saw them introduce a pre-cast deck arrangement, which allowed the pipeline to be installed from above, and then install the deck into position.

Bracketing for the support of these large diameter pipes was a critical issue and again innovative design allowed for the construction methodology to be simplified. The on-site versatility of FRC™ pipes served well again in overcoming the regular penetrations in the deck for scupper pipes.
